Donate your old laptop and help Arizona students. Working laptops are wiped clean of personal data, refurbished, and loaded with free GED materials. Broken laptops are parted out and recycled.
Turn E-waste into Inspiration
Hi! I'm Katherine
I created Upcycled Property with the hope of sharing my upcycling projects. The laptop donation program is just the start. I love to give my time to inspirational and creative endeavors. If you are in the Sedona area and have an old laptop, I hope that you'll consider donating it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Who gets the laptops?
A: Functional laptops go to Arizona students (or adults) who are seeking a GED. Broken laptops are parted out and the parts are either recycled or used for STEM learning projects.
Q: I still have files on my laptop. How do I delete them?
A: I take privacy and security very seriously. Donated laptops have all data, files and information wiped clean in a process called restoring factory settings. If you feel more comfortable doing this yourself, you can do a Google search including the name of your device and the phrase "reset to factory settings" and you will likely find instructions. I have also provided a link to a detailed article below.
Q: How do I donate?
A: I will be collecting laptops at donation locations in Sedona and Cottonwood. The dates, times and locations are listed below. Additionally, you can fill out the web form on this page to arrange a time for me to pick up your laptop (Sedona and Cottonwood only).
Q: Is my donation tax deductible?
A: Unfortunately, your donation is not tax deductible. I am simply an individual donating my time and resources to a cause that I find worthy.
Q: Do you take broken laptops?
A: Yes! Damaged and inoperable laptops are broken down for parts. Parts are either recycled or upcycled and used for STEM projects. Hard drives are wiped clean before they are reused.
